Prayer has changed me.
It has softened my edges and shown me new ways to think and act.
I am grateful and as I mature, I notice a kinder version of myself.
I was born in Iowa into a Presbyterian family and the first spiritual training I received was in church, Sunday school and around the family piano. I loved to sing and church offered outlets for singing, so I weathered the religious talk in order to find an audience…..
I believe in spirit guides, guardian angels, the power of prayer, spirit and divine presence; especially for other people. For myself I become skeptical – and if what I read or hear goes too far into the “outer dimensions”, I become a quasi non-believer; a questioner. My left-brain takes over and says things with sarcasm like – “Seriously” “Oh Dear!” and “You have got to be kidding!” I am not proud of it, especially since using prayer and affirmations saved…..

Yes! I have written a book and, yes, I call myself a writer – however today as I sit to write my first blog for Gifts from Guidance readers (or future readers!), I seem to have forgotten how to write. So far today I have cleaned my office, organized my desk, gone through two notebooks of To-Do items and random ideas for the future and categorized them into a third notebook. I have listened to music, baked a chicken…..
